The sun is supposed to have his Easter hat on this weekend. It’s been forecast that we’re set for a scorcher (well, 20°C – but we’re British, so our pale pins will be out at merely the flicker of a ray of sunshine regardless of the temperature). We are all, no doubt, set to make the most of a glorious hint of summer, so we’ve rounded up the best ways that you can enjoy it throughout the UK.

What: The Manchester Duck Race is back! Buy a duck for £1, chuck it in the River Irwell and wait to see who’s duck wins. Easter Fun at Beamish

What: Wander the sunny streets of Beamish and take part in Easter activities. Some of these includes traditional Easter celebrations from the 19th and 20th centuries and cooking events. A day on the coast in Tynemouth

What: Why not spend a day visiting the beautiful coastal town of Tynemouth. Take time to wander Tynemouth Market or grab some delicious freshly cooked fish on the beachfront from Riley’s Fish Shack. When the weather’s as gorgeous as it’s supposed to be this weekend, you can’t beat it. It’s free to do, easily accessible via Metro or car and there are plenty of coffee shops/bars to refuel with a view.

Paddle to the Pub

What: Paddle down the River Dart and stop for a pub lunch before you head back in the water to where you started. If the pub isn’t your scene, you can head to a local cafe or even have a picnic on the beach. The journey down there flows through beautiful green woodland and sparkling water. The perfect Easter day out if you’re not feeling like bunnies or chocolate and especially if the sun is shining brightly.
