T’is the season for bold eyes.

As New York Fashion Week comes to a close for it’s SS20 collections, we take a look back at the beauty looks we’ve enjoyed throughout. It’s clear that dramatic eyes are going to be big next season, with natural skin becoming more prominent than ever.

Vera Wang

Vera Wang returned to the runway and it was a comeback to remember. When gothic meets glam, these smudged black eyes – that were featured in greys and whites, too – are the ultimate statement that we absolutely love.

Tom Ford

Chic, glowing and oh so sophisticated. Tom Ford, now chairman of the CFDA, worked wonders on the catwalk. The glam is the definition of elegance with an edge. A traditional smoky eye with prominent cat eye flicks and the dewiest cheeks you’ve ever seen.

Proenza Schouler

As if we didn’t love a slick back, low pony enough already? This wrapped hairstyle is the perfect example of ‘same, same but different’, very different. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s take on a Power Woman is a poignant statement post their reclaiming of the brand.

Phillip Lim

Simple yet incredibly effective. Phillip Lim created sleek hairstyles while thumbprint eyeliner dominated the beauty in terms of makeup.

Oscar De La Renta

In line with the colourful eyes that are sweeping us off our feet for SS20, Oscar De La Renta’s exaggerated bold and bright smudges are everything.

Marc Jacobs

Celebrating the joy of eccentricity, models at Marc Jacobs were made up in order to follow the colourful clothing. Bright, bold, authentic colours of the brightest rainbow. What he enjoyed, went. With diamante encrusted eyes and shadow of an incredible array of shades, each look unique and portraying a different segment of Marc Jacob’s reality.

Eckhaus Latta

Straying away from the liner smudges but keeping on trend in colour, Eckhaus Latta used fingers to effortlessly smear pigmented shades around the eye areas.

Cynthia Rowley

We’re getting Mansur Gavriel vibes. Cynthia Rowley’s white liner in the shape of cartoon fluffy clouds brings the attention to the eyes, while keeping the rest of the face simple and dewy.

Anna Sui

Barely there makeup and star studded eyes. Anna Sui let her clothes do the talking for SS20 while retaining simplicity and creativity on the face.
