We take a look at the beauty trends set to take 2021 by storm…

Beauty has been in a weird place for the past year – our priorities have changed, what we buy has changed and we’ve become a lot more ‘in-tune’ with what our bodies, minds and souls need. From DIY facials, to at home spas and even tools every beauty aficionado would be jealous off, let’s look at the top 7 beauty trends we’ll be vowing to try this year.

Hollistic Beauty

In a year that’s been tough to say the least, we predict a huge shift towards holistic beauty. We’re starting to look towards products and brands that make us not only look good, but also feel good both physically and mentally. We predict beauty with a heart will become a focus with beauty lovers, looking to a 360 degree shopping experience.

Westlab “Sleep” Bath Salt with Lavender, Jasmine & Valerian – 1kg, £7.99
Balance Me Dawn to Dusk Skincare Routine Set, £30
Danielle Creations Amethyst Dual Ended Facial Roller, £20
Ecooking Derma Roller, £73

Barely-There Beauty

Lockdown has meant we’ve become a lot less interested in complex makeup routines (choosing to give our skin a break – I mean, no one’s seeing us anyway, right?), replacing foundation with face masks. But, for those Zoom calls and trips to the supermarket, a base is still desired… We see beauty babes choosing lighter base formulas, cheek products that deliver a natural flush and subtle mascaras that enhance natural lashes.

Strivectin  Line BlurFector Instant Wrinkle Blurring Primer, £29.50
Stila One Step Correct 30ml, £26
Perricone MD No Makeup Foundation Serum Broad Spectrum SPF20, £45
Erborian CC Creme Red Correct 15ml, £15

Healthy Mane

Who remembers the last time they popped to the hair salon? No, us neither… We predict a huge shift in 2021 in the pursuit of ultimate hair health. Think scalp scrubs, serums, and deep cleansing products with powerful booster ingredients like hyaluronic acid.

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density 60ml, £15.60
Curlsmith Intense Treatment Serum 4oz, £13.30
Sachajuan Intensive Hair Oil 50ml, £14
Oh K! Coconut Hair Mask, £5

Discovery & Education

Many find the joy in discovering new brands but with current restrictions, this has become more difficult. The beauty industry is having to adapt, and for 2021 we will discover our new beauty staples through beauty boxes, discovery set, travel minis and virtual evenings.

Beauty Pro Restore & Renew Set, £16
Danielle Creations Bright Eyes Rolling Massager & Soothing Gel Pads, £7
SOSU by Suzanne Jackson – Dripping Gold Perfect Pair Medium Lotion Set, £26.95
Philosophy Microdelivery In-Home Vitamin C Peptide Peel, £61.50

Quality Over Quantity

On our journey to the best skin of our life (we’ve all said this at some point during lockdown), it’s time to think about quality over quantity. Wise investments in more premium products are a must, balanced out by streamlining your beauty regime and finding formulas and products that work hard for your skin.

Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM 30ml, £55
Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Triple Rose Renewing Moisturiser 50ml, £49.30
Perricone MD No:Rinse Intensive Pore Minimizing Toner, £35
Caudalie Anti-wrinkle Face Suncare SPF 30 50ml, £8.91

Serious Skincare

One thing we didn’t think we’d miss was the trusty facial. Less so because we go so often, more so because it’s great to have the option. Well, we’re seriously thinking about our skincare tools and everything we can bring to the comfort of our own home to drive the best skincare results (teeth too) – professional-level results at home.

Foreo UFO Device for an accelerated mask treatment in Pearl Pink, £169
Foreo ESPADA – Blue Light Acne Treatment Pink, £129
Foreo IRIS Black Illuminating Eye Massager, £119
Foreo ISSA 2 Electric Sonic Toothbrush Mint, £149

Every Day is a Spa Day

2020 saw a huge surge in bath and body sets, as we had no choice but to bring the spa environment home. 2021 will be no different. We’re putting more time, effort and money into everyday tasks, creating at-home spa experiences and even turning tasks like hand-washing into a ‘ritual’ to find comfort and relaxation inside our home.

Westlab 100% Pure Unfragranced Himalayan Bath Salts 1kg, £5.99
Aromatherapy Associates Muscle Bath & Shower Oil 55ml, £49
ilapothecary Feminine Happy Oil 100ml, £46
