Do you enjoy a zesty opening with a woody base enriched by calming Vetiver then Dolce & Gabbana and Versace’s new men’s fragrances are both worth your attention. D&G’s Light Blue Pour Homme Eau De Parfum and the Eau De Parfum version of Versace’s classic Eros are both new to summer 2021, offering refreshing takes on the woody fragrance family in different ways.
Light Blue Pour Homme opens with Grapefruit and Bergamot to reveal an aquatic heart with a floral Violet twist, drying down to a luxe base of Java Vetiver Oil, White Musk and Patchouli. The Eros Eau De Parfum dials up the citrus with Lemon, Mandarin Orange, Mint and Candy Apple on top, introducing a green heart that dries down to a unique and enchanting blend of Vanilla, Sandalwood, Cedar and Patchouli, which is simultaneously given a zesty kick from Bitter Orange and a seductive appeal from a Leather accord.
Ladies, sometimes a lighter Eau De Toilette is preferred for summer. It might not last as long but sometimes a breezier essence is what you need when the temperatures rise, making Gucci Guilty Pour Femme (EDT) and Dior’s Miss Dior Rose N’ Roses two perfect options to have in your fragrance collection.
These two floral fragrances share exuberant top notes of Mandarin Orange and clean, powdery White Musk at the base, although their floral hearts offer different bouquets. Miss Dior Rose N’ Roses is aptly named after its doubled up rose heart – Grasse Rose and Damaske Rose – while Gucci Guilty Pour Femme marries Geranium (often considered ‘the other rose’) with Lilac and Jasmine, which are given a fruity twist by Peach, Raspberry and Black Currant.
Searching something sweet for the summer? Ghost and Ariana Grande have two delicious Eau De Parfums that are undeniably two of the best summer scents for 2021. Both are crafted with a woody musky base and carry a similar floral heart, Ghost’s Orb Of Night opts for Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Ylang-Ylang where Ariana’s R.E.M. combines Lavender and Pear Blossom.
The major difference between these two fragrances is where their sweet Caramel accords exist in the formulas. Orb Of Night sweetens its amber, woody, musky base with Caramel -making sure its syrupy essence lasts for longer – while R.E.M. uses the confectionary appeal in the top notes, making the invitation as sweet as possible. Both are gorgeous options for a summer scent and will definitely leave an impression.
It’s a Paco Rabanne Summer… but which scent will rule your summer? Lady Million Fabulous is the vibrant new edition of the PR classic, adding sweet and citrus elements to the defining Vanilla and White Floral accords. Olympéa, on the other hand, offers a spicier amber floral olfactory experience; its salty heart gives way to a luxury base of Cashmere Wood, Ambergris and Sandalwood. Which Paco Rabanne woman are you?
IKON and 1667 are two of the most exquisite fragrance collections exclusive to The Fragrance Shop. While there’s something to elevate everyone’s essence in both, 1667 Citrus Oud and IKON 807 are two of our favourites when it comes to the best summer scents around.
Both fragrances have a Vanilla, Musk and Amber base, though paired with different woods. Citrus Oud by 1667 creates a warm enveloping base with the addition of Cedarwood and Oud, which lies under a spicy floral heart and fresh citrusy top notes including Grapefruit, Orange, Lemon and sparkling Petitgrain. Meanwhile, 807 by IKON combines a rousing mix of Rosewood, Cardamom, Patchouli and Saffron, which is given a decadant floral twist courtesy of Jasmine Absolute.
