It’s #ParentsDay and so here at etc., we’re thanking our parents for their long-lived beauty tips.

Remember when you were younger and just starting out with makeup and skincare, what were the things your parents used to tell you? Whether it was that your foundation shade was just a little too dark or that you really should put down the tweezers, our beauty team share their advice and secrets we learned long ago from our parents.

Lisa: “No matter how tired you are always take your make up off before you go to bed and always wear sun screen”.

Athina: “Sun-cream!!! Always wear sun-cream. Don’t over pluck your eyebrows (they don’t grow back, quickly at least). Oh, and don’t frown – it gives you wrinkles”.

Hannah: “No matter how you feel, put some makeup and a smile on. Plus, stop drawing your eyebrows on like that.” – (I can assure you, I was adamant that my eyebrows were fine at the time).

Irina: “Mom and Dad always told me not to touch my face – like ever. Not even to scratch or touch or anything.”
