The iconic singer, actress, activist is set to launch her first new fragrance since the 1908’s this Autumn.

The Goddess of Pop is back once again. The American singer and actress announced yesterday to her 3.66 million Twitter followers that a brand-new Cher scent is on the cards for later on this year. “Eau de Couture” has been four years in the making.

Cher told WWD that it’s a spicy, vanilla oriental fragrance with notes of bergamot, neroli, jasmine and vetiver.

“I like vanilla, it’s just a girl thing I think,” Cher said. “But I also very much like something that’s spicy. I was talking with Steve [Mormoris, who is her fragrance partner] right now, and he was saying, ‘I don’t know how you got to have black-and-white notes,’ and I didn’t know what I was doing, so that’s how that came about.”

“We’ve come a long, long way since I first put out a perfume so I really do believe this is genderless,” Cher said. “I [made] it for people who love perfume or people who want to smell good, people who feel that it’s part of who they are. I imagine there are people, I know there are people, who don’t want to have anything on them and I cannot even go to that place.”

Cher has already worn her new fragrance on a daily basis, debuting it at events such as the Met Gala. She recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon wearing Eau de Couture and was utterly delighted when someone asked her what perfume she had on. “I was so thrilled, I can’t even tell you. I was jumping up and down.”

There is no set release day, in true Cher style she has said it will come “when I’m ready”, but it’s been teased to hit the shelves this Autumn. We’d recommend keeping an eye on her Twitter, and sit tight with us while we wait for more updates.
