MONDAY'S OVER, WIND DOWN WITH EYE CREAM -

You made it through another Monday, treat your eyes to some TLC.

Skincare can sometimes be hard to get to grips with, especially knowing what’s essential and what’s not, but we need to take care of our eyes. We’ll hold our hands up and admit that sometimes we skip on the eye cream. It’s not one of those products that presents immediate effects, so using it can feel a little pointless. But, and this is a big but, it will ultimately help our ageing process in the long run. We moisturise, we cleanse, we use toner, but the truth is that our eyes actually need a little more concern than the rest of our faces.

Unfortunately, the skin around our eyes age faster than any other part of our face. It’s thinner, more delicate skin and therefore it doesn’t have the same kind of bounce-back that our cheeks have. We spend so much time ensuring our cheeks are moisturised properly, when we should actually be spending that time and money on our peepers. The skin under our eyes loses hydration faster than any other part of our body, so it’s our job to keep them quenched. Tariq Karim, founder of Santi Medispa told Byrdie that “The skin tissue around the eye is at it’s thinnest, you therefore cannot have too many active ingredients. In fact, some leading eye creams are tested by ophthalmologists.”

As well as staying hydrated and ensuring that our skin is healthy, using products designated to our eye area will also help to combat those seemingly never disappearing eye-bags (which unfortunately for us, are not Prada). It just seems you can’t go wrong with adding a tube of magic eye cream to your skincare regime.
