We are so pleased to announce Rays of Sunshine’s 36-hour #WhatIWouldGive fundraising campaign was a roaring success, as the dear children’s charity raised £1.3 million.
We at The Fragrance Shop are beyond proud to have supported the wonderful team’s urgent fundraiser that will help them continue their vital work in bringing light to seriously ill children around the UK. In the past decade, we have raised £1.5 million through our Spray a Little Happiness Foundation, which has helped the children’s charity fulfil more than 750 children’s wishes.
When we were heard about the #WhatIWouldGive fundraiser, the answer was obvious: We’d give everything we can. That’s why, for 36 hours, we donated 5p from every online and in-store transaction to Rays of Sunshine, and gave our customers the option to donate 25p of their transaction to the fundraiser, knowing the amount would be doubled.
After a difficult year for Rays of Sunshine, we are thrilled to say the 36-hour stint has raised £1,300,000 for them, with £25,664.40 coming from The Fragrance Shop and our customers. Now, many more children will be able to have their dreams fulfilled to distract them from their darkest moments. These treasured moments bring much-needed relief to not only the children but also their families, so we cannot thank you all enough for supporting this cause.
From meeting their idols, like One Direction’s Niall Horan, to being James Bond for the day, Rays of Sunshine make the impossible possible. In 2018, we helped surprise the Rays of Sunshine’s Children’s Choir with a visit from Olly Murs at The Fragrance Shop in London’s Westfield. Three years later, Olly helped us champion the #WhatIWouldGive campaign to raise as much money as possible.
Rays of Sunshine can now continue to sparkle joy in children’s lives and provide ongoing support in hospitals and the ROS community, thanks to your support. The charity’s work creates precious memories for the children and their families, offering an escape from the heaviness of their illnesses.
