Summer Club is one of our favourite moments of the year. A full day inside The Fragrance Shop dedicated entirely to the season we’re all here for, with layering stations, launch previews, hands-on fragrance play with our team and some of the loveliest people from our fragrance family. This year’s Summer Club was our best yet, packed with new launches and a proper deep-dive into how to layer scents for summer.
Below, we’ve pulled together the full recap. The stations, the launches, what our fragrance family had to say about the standout picks, our own layering guide and a quick answer to the question everyone asks in July: can I bring perfume on a plane? Explore our full Summer Club edit for the complete collection of products featured at the event.

The whole event was built around layering. Each station showcased a family of scents you can wear on their own or combine to build something completely personal, and our fragrance experts were on hand at every stop to help you find your summer signature.

Three standout picks at the event pulled some genuinely lovely reactions from our creator community. Here’s what they said.

The newest chapter in the Rabanne 1 Million family, 1 Million Black, was a proper summer moment. Our fragrance family had thoughts.
@fragmental: “Think of a fresher version of one million with that tropical pineapple, lifting that really nice addictive, indulgent one million DNA.”
@fragranceviking: “It’s fruity, it’s brighter, it smells very tropical, perfect for a summer’s day. I have already tried this and it lasts all day. This is top 3 OG, 100% the elixir and this!”
@rachelspicer_: “Ohh that’s nice, that’s a sexy man scent for sure, there’s like a sweet tinge to the pineapple. It’s not too heavy for night time, it’s still light enough for daytime.”
@daveanica: “That’s really nice, I think it’s an all-around scent! 10/10!”
The Burberry Goddess Intense Eau de Parfum featured a serious moment on the amber vanilla stand.
@by.aniqua: “That is nice, it’s such a sexy evening or winter scent for you girls, I would love it in the evenings or for the winter.”
@_deepak611: “First impressions, one word, this is sexy. Listen. This is what you wanna wear when the weather gets a bit colder, and you’re going on a date night and you wanna make a bit of an impression. For me, I think this will be a good transitional scent going into autumn. I always say amber is the best transitional note in a fragrance, and this amber vanilla, let me tell you, chef’s kiss.”
@p.a.glambystefania: “This is sophistication, it’s sexy, it’s seductive, it’s all you wanted goddess to be, empowered. I love it.”
@scentsationalle: “Wow, yes. It smells beautiful. This is like sexy date night in a bottle. That is just gonna get you stopped and asked what you’re wearing. 10 out of 10.”
The Carolina Herrera La Bomba station was packed all day, and the Intense version pulled some brilliant reactions.
@angelina: “Oh my gosh, people will eat you alive with this one. This one has more brightness to the middle notes of it, it is really fruity but it was quite punchy. I personally would wear this all the time, I absolutely love it.”
@arabolish: “It definitely smells more intense, more floral, more sensual. Definitely a day and evening fragrance.”
@bigafrodia: “Oh wow, I am a huge fan of La Bomba. This one is definitely on the fruit side. I like this one, I’m gonna put some more on. Amazing.”

Layering fragrance is one of the loveliest ways to make your summer wardrobe feel personal. It’s the trick our fragrance experts use to build a scent that’s completely yours rather than one everyone else on the shelf is wearing. Once you know how to layer, every bottle in your collection effectively doubles.
Our fragrance team’s five essential rules for layering in the heat.
Rule one: start heaviest, finish lightest. Your base scent goes on first. Your fresher, lighter scent goes on top. That way the top notes stay top notes.
Rule two: layer within families. Two florals, two citrus, two gourmands. Layering wildly different olfactory families rarely works, especially in summer when heat amplifies everything.
Rule three: use body mists as a layering base. Body mists like the Calvin Klein CK Body Mist Set or the Marc Jacobs Daisy Body Mist are the smartest way to layer without commitment. Spray the mist all over as your base, then apply your main fragrance to pulse points on top.
Rule four: apply to different pulse points. Base scent on chest and neck, top scent on wrists and inside elbows. Let the two mingle in the air rather than mixing directly on skin.
Rule five: moisturise first. Fragrance clings to hydrated skin. A body lotion under any layered combination will stretch the wear time significantly.
Can I bring perfume on a plane? Your summer holiday fragrance FAQ
One of the most-asked questions at Summer Club, and the one our fragrance experts answer every July: can I bring a perfume on a plane, and if so, in what size? Here’s the full breakdown.
Yes. UK and EU airport rules allow perfume in hand luggage as long as each container is 100ml or smaller. That means most standard 30ml, 50ml and 100ml perfume bottles are fine to carry through security in your hand luggage, provided they’re placed inside your clear plastic liquids bag along with your other 100ml-or-smaller liquids.
If your bottle is larger than 100ml (150ml or 200ml sizes, for example), you cannot carry it through airport security in your hand luggage under current rules. You can, however, pack it safely in your checked baggage inside your suitcase. So the answer to “can perfume be carried on plane” depends entirely on bottle size and which bag you’re using.
Yes, and this is one of the smartest ways to travel with fragrance. Duty-free perfume purchased inside the airport comes in a sealed transparent bag (called a STEB, or Secure Tamper-Evident Bag) which is exempt from the 100ml liquid rule. You can take a 150ml or 200ml bottle straight through if it’s bought in duty-free and stays sealed until you’re at your final destination.
Yes. Any size of perfume can be packed in your checked hold luggage without restriction. Just wrap the bottle in a jumper or bubble wrap to protect it from pressure changes, and keep it upright in your suitcase where possible. This is the easiest way to travel with a full 100ml summer signature or a 150ml holiday-only bottle.
For the easiest summer travel setup, buy a travel-size bottle of your summer signature (30ml or under). Layer with a matching body mist in your hand luggage for the mid-flight refresh. And save your bigger 100ml or 150ml bottle for your suitcase or duty-free run at the airport.
